2. Birth of Mary. St Anne lies in a blue covered bed. Its canopy has long green curtains.

3. Mary presents herself at the Temple.

4. Betrothal of Joseph and Mary.

Window 3: The Birth of Christ

From left to right: 1. The Annunciation. The Angel Gabriel (in blue) is seen announcing to Mary that she shall bear the Son of the Most High, whose Spirit overshadows her.

2. The Nativity. Mary adores the child. Behind Joseph, two shepherds are in the doorway.

3. The Magi. One before the infant Jesus offers gold. Another in the tunic of white silk brings a round casket of frankincense, and the six-sided vessel of the third stands containing myrrh may be seen.

Window 3, The birth of Christ

4. The Presentation of Christ in the Temple. On the right Joseph stands next to aged Simeon to whom Mary (in blue) hands Jesus. On the left is Anna, the prophetess. A young woman carries in her right hand a wicker cage with two doves and in her left a candle; this is probably a disguised portrait of Henry VII's eldest daughter, Margaret.
